CD-Player does not play sound due to a device conflict.
Cause:
There is a device conflict between the CD-ROM and another device using the same IRQ address.
Solution:
View and change the IRQ settings in 'Device Manager'.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)
3) Double-click the 'System' icon. (The 'System Properties' dialog box appears.)

4) Click the 'Device Manager' tab.
5) Click on the plus sign next to the device type to view its resources. (The branch expands, listing all installed devices.)
6) Double-click the device in the 'Device Manager List' to open it. (The '<device name> Properties' sheet appears, where <device name> is the name of the specific device chosen.)
7) Click the 'Resources' tab.
8) View the IRQ setting of the device in the 'Resource Settings' box.
9) Change the IRQ settings for the device or start the 'Windows troubleshooter' and let Windows change the IRQ settings.
